There’s a shitton of advertising awards, but Boston’s favorite is the Hatch Awards. My pal Aldis Rasums and I really liked an ad that we did for Professor Tom Fauls, so we fixed it up and submitted it. It features Augustus Gustbuster Esq, a jolly Wodehousian gent who saves the day whenever an umbrella is needed. It’s meant to look like old newspaper comics. Not because we were too lazy to color it in, but because we love old newspapers, dammit!!! It’s our homage to the death of print media.

So here it is, gloriously large, just like me, just for YOU, MOTHAFUCKA!!!!!!!

Update: I still haven’t fixed my layout, so the picture is small. You’re gonna have to click on through to actually read the comix.

Augustus Gustbuster saves the day!

Augustus Gustbuster Esq, at your service.

I’m a bit confused if comics with a non-linear (i.e – traditional) layout can still make it to today crowd, especially on the internet.

The layout itself is kind of difficult to follow, which therefore makes me scroll down and comment here.

ehab: i can see your point. it’s too late now of course, since we’ve already submitted it. but when we do more of these, we’ll make sure to keep the narrative flow in mind.

on a tangential point, it’s amazing how comic artists keep all those differently sized panels and still keep their comics readable!!!!!
